Waylon sends his first box of books to Comfort Cases!

When I first wrote Waylon’s story my goal was to use his narrative to empower children experiencing foster care who may be on a similar journey. I spent a lot of time researching nonprofits to give back to and stumbled upon one that fits perfectly with the Waylon’s World mission. Comfort Cases is changing the way children enter the foster care system by prioritizing dignity, ownership, and hope.

I reached out to the organization and was shocked when the CEO/Founder Rob Scheer emailed me back the same day. It’s not often that you get a timely and direct response from the big man on campus but I think this is why Comfort Cases succeeds.

We had a wonderful conversation about his personal experience in foster care, how it shaped the path he look in life, and the beautiful family he built today. Once the book was published, he connected me to the lovely people on his team and we came up with a cohesive plan to donate books and money to this meaningful cause.

Thanks to your generous purchases, Waylon was able to ship his first box of books to Comfort Cases and his story will be added to the backpacks of children entering the foster care system today.
